Who can remember an election that had more impact on our national politics than the January 17th Massachusetts U. S. senate seat to replace Ted Kennedy?  Liberal Democrat icon Kennedy held that seat for 47 years.  It now belongs to Scott Brown, a Republican!  That is a huge story!

The implications went far beyond the state of Massachusetts.  It was a nationwide referendum repudiating Obama and the Democrat Party agendas, not restricted to, but especially as to ObamaCare.  Other concerns by voters include out of control spending, national security, the economy, continued unemployment, cap and trade, big government, abortion, etc.

Add to those concerns, Obama promised a new kind of government.  He promised transparency, accountability, less influence from lobbyists, fewer pork barrel earmarks, bipartisanship, curtailing special interests, even fewer abortions.  Not only do these things fail to happen, it’s worse than ever.  Even corruption is worse.  One could argue Obama lied to the American public by campaigning as a centrist or moderate all along knowing all his agendas would not only be left of center, but far left of center!

Most of all, when we look at the various agendas, voters were showing their anger over the govenment’s total disregard for public opinion.  Obama and company continued down a path where the majority of Americans were saying this is not at all what we want for this country; most particularly ObamaCare.  Public opinion was falling on deaf ears.  Through that election the state and national electorate said “we’re taking back our country.”  We’re electing a Republican to put a stop to the madness.  Turns out, it may not be stopping the insanity.

It’s important for readers to fully understand the significance of the Massachusetts election.  Probably a shot, so to speak, heard around the world, not just in a particular state or our nation.  It’s that big!

Our president and congress are liberal Democrat - and so is Massachusetts, considered one of the top liberal states in the nation.  A year ago Obama won this state by a 26% margin.  Kennedy held his senate seat for 47 years and the other senate seat was also held by a Democrat for 30 some years.  So, what went wrong that such a liberal state would have the audacity to elect a conservative Republican by the name of Brown?

The answer is Obama and company went overboard to the extent, not only  conservatives, Republicans, independents and moderates are critical; but even many liberals and millions of Democrats.  Our government basically said the heck with what people think, no matter what you’re persuasion, we’re going full steam ahead with all our agendas. 

There are two kinds of liberals.  One is what you might call the ordinary liberal and the other is a far left liberal.  Obama is far left and so is his staff and so is the leadership in congress.  Put it this way.  Liberals may make up 20% of the population, but within that group a very small percent of the 20% is calling all the shots.  A small group within a larger group is running the country and they’re called far left liberals. 

Actually, there’s another name for this latter group.  They’re called ”progressives.”  The name is being used more and more in political circles today, and will get more and more attention as time goes on.  The word progressive sounds good but when you look at the history of the progressive movement that word will become even less appealing to the public than the word liberal.  Many liberals do not like to be called liberal and are calling themselves progressives not knowing what that far left ideology is all about.

The stubborness and refusal to listen to the public by Obama and company has come to a head.  The election in Massachusetts speaks volumes!  The majority of Americans feel our government has crossed the line.  There is humongous buyers remorse.

The sixty four thousand dollar question at this point is whether the “progressives” will or will not continue to self destruct.  Is their ideology of big government, redistribution of wealth, etc. more important to them - or the will of the people?  Only time will tell, but it is evident more than ever our government’s un-democratic ways has awakened a sleeping giant.  Ramming agendas down our throats will be harder than ever.  Will we return to our democratic ways or continue down the path of dictatorial ways?  That is a huge question!

As we speak there is the threat by Dems to change the rules so that Brown’s election means nothing.  It’s a thing called reconciliation that requires a smaller number to vote in favor of a bill.  There’s nothing the Dems won’t do to get their way and that could have catastrophic implications for America.

In my most recent letter to the HDNews editor I had three points to make in regard to having a democratic process with ObamaCare versus a dictatorial one. 

Point number one, I contend that Obama’s terrible approval and disapproval ratings are directly related to his refusal to listen to the American public.  All polls show Americans don’t want OC as written in House or Senate bills.  It doesn’t seem to make one bit of difference to him or Pelosi or Reid.  In other words, Obama and company are thumbing their noses at democracy.

Secondly, I contend that the “process” taken by Dems to get to the two bills can’t possibly lead to a positive final health bill.  The process has involved shenanighans, scams, schemes, distortions, under the table deals, etc.  One can’t help conclude the process is corrupt, even criminal.  The process makes a mockery of democracy.

Third, we’re at the point now with the two bills (to be made into one) of a total lack of transparency.  House and senate members are conferring behind closed doors.  Who knows what deals are being made to buy votes using tax money?  How can there be such monumental legislation, that the American public has clearly shown it does not want, with the liklihood of not one single Republican voting in favor.  Republicans have been totally locked out.  There’s not an ounce of bipartisanship, nor an ounce of democracy.  Even some Dems are locked out.

Tell me, when looking at those three points, if we get OC rammed down our throats, that’s not catastrophic for a democratic nation!  It means our democracy has been set back by some 100 or 200 years.

This blog is a continuation of a recent letter to the editor that I had in the Hays paper with the same title.  My contention in that letter is that the “process” undertaken to legislate ObamaCare (OC) is so filled with distortion, schemes, scams, payoffs, lies, etc. it is impossible to have more good come out of this bill than bad. 

I ask readers to keep uppermost in mind the big picture primarily (the process) even though the details I provide are very significant also.  The big picture is nothing short of mind boggling in transforming our healthcare in this country.  To me, as I study this legislation, I am appalled and that’s putting it mildly.  I have never been more disgusted with our government.   It’s an ugly picture as one looks at the details of all the “procedures” taken by Obama and Democrats to ram OC down our throats.  

 No doubt I will get criticized for what I write.  A lot of the criticism will be nit picking.  After all, I provide a lot of information and nit picking can come into play for anything whenever a writing is extensive.  Keep in mind readers I am with the majority in this country; the nit pickers are the minority - and, by huge margins.  

In my HDNews letter I point out that there are votes on bills not even read, even votes on bills not even written.  Why votes in the middle of the night?  Why a bill of over 2,000 pages?  Of course, that action or scheme is to get votes while the public isn’t watching and the ludicrous number of pages is to distort, confuse, leave loopholes, sweatheart deals, etc.  The Dems hope a lot they are trying to do will go unnoticed by the public by overwhelming us with a couple thousand pages.  A Republican senator said that even when you read the bill one has no idea how it will actually affect their particular state. 

And, this is just the tip of the iceberg!  Hang on to your seats.  It gets a lot better or should I say - it gets much worse!

It’s important for me to point out I am not writing about the final bill only.  I am writing about the whole gamut of things taking place to get to the final OC.  The whole “process,” if you will, is an ugly picture even though the devil is in the details which I present comprehensively - along with the big picture of this travesty.

Speaking of the big picture let’s look at what most Americans favor.  Poll after poll after poll shows the majority does not favor OC.  Not one single poll shows that we the majority do!  Isn’t it unAmerican, undemocratic, unconscionable, etc. for Obama and the Democrats to totally ignore what the majority wants?  That whole scenario paints a real disgusting picture in and of itself.

As I proceed, I want readers to know I contend, as a reminder, what is taking place crosses the line.  We have a president and political party out of control to the point a good case (actually an obvious one as I see it) that our government has become corrupt, immmoral, unconstitutional, even criminal in the process of  forcing OC on we the people. 

If sweatheart deals in smoke filled rooms, deals under the table, pay offs, buy outs, payola, etc. aren’t criminal what is?  We’re talking about OC affecting one sixth of our economy which brings big government up to nearly 50% control with bank bailouts, control of the auto industry, etc.  The majority in this country does not want bigger government.  This whole thing is not better care for Americans.  It’s growing government for the purpose of power and control over our lives.  OC is not to improve the healthcare of Americans - period! 

Obama and company are bound and determined to take us down the road toward socialism.  Control, control, control.  If 85% of Americans are okay with our free market capitalistic health insurance companies and don’t want to change its mind boggling that we are forced to.  And, I repeat, it is not at all about better healthcare for us.  Its to grow government; it’s to move toward European style socialism even though history shows what is happening abroad isn’t all that great.

We have got to take back our country!  OC will control our lives like you won’t believe unless we become informed, involved, emails, phone calls, and most of all vote come November, 2010!  Do as I do.  Write a letter to the editor.  Don’t let the nit picking minority critics dominate the pages of our media.  We need a rebellion or revolution against big spenders and those, who are supposed to represent us, that are totally ignoring our concerns.  That all can take place at the ballot box.

My critics will argue that the back room sweetheart deals is business as usual.  It’s just our typical dirty politics.  I believe that frame of mind is why this country, as we speak, is in such a world of hurt.  Our deficit is going to bankrupt us, and OC makes it worse.  Unemployment is atrocious.  Our international relations never worse.  Etc.  Obama campaigned on “changing Washington” but has not only continued the corruption but made matters worse.  Oh brother, do we need to change Washington and that may include some Republicans but, obviously, mostly Democrats.

If my critics argue that the sweetheart buy out payoff  bribes is business as usual what does that say about my critics?  Perhaps no better than the politicians currently engaged in this corruption!

Listen up and hang with me readers as I do less philosophizing and provide more of the nitty gritty details.  Thanks!

Although there have been shenanigans galore in processing OC, probably the buying and selling of votes by politicians to get special benefits for a particular state is the most egregious.  Take Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, for example, who sold out her vote when the Dem leadership bought her vote by giving her state 300 million of your money and mine.  Senator Joe Lieberman, who is supposed to be an independent, sold out with a sweetheart deal.  Christopher Dodd and John Kerry got special favors for their states.  There’s the proof our congressmen (the givers and the takers) have no priciples or morals.  Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska might be the worst!  Nelson caved in on several fronts that even Nebraska’s governor said was not right and citizens of his own state are giving him a tongue lashing for what he did because they know corruption when they see it and don’t want any part of it. 

Those sweetheart, back room deals, are calling into question the constitutionality of such behavior.  The possibility of violating our Constitution is a HUGE story as part of this writing.  If this bill becomes law Nebraskans will be entitled to subsidies using taxpayers money that Kansans won’t get or other states.  The 10th and 14th amendments may be violated with these special favors going to special legislators of special states.  When I say special I am referring to a politician whose vote is special in passing a bill.  Even the idea of mandating everybody buy health insurance is going to be a constitutional question. 

Think about this readers!  The state of Kansas gets no special deals from senate leadership because our two senators are Republicans, not Democrats.  While Nebraska gets a huge monetary break, not only do we, as a state, lose out on getting something; we also lose out by having to pick up some of the tab for those states with the sweetheart deals.

A huge point to make at this juncture is that not only are there schemes, scams, etc. galore all over the place in passing OC, we have a president and Democrat controlled Congress that could care less about our Constitution.  Anything goes even if it violates our constitutional rights.  We are guaranteed, looking at the process OC is taking, that more bad than good will come out of this bill for a litany of reasons not the least of which is a violation of our most sacred document. 

Talk about schemes and distortions let’s look at the senate abortion language.  According to the most pro abortion govenor ever, ex Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius said (probably now biting her tongue) there’s a slush fund in the bill that is not earmarked for anything specifically that will be used to subsidize abortions.  Everybody will pay taxes for their insurance and a portion of your money and mine will go to ease the expense for those wanting to kill their babies!  How’s that for a scheme!  God help us!  Then the liberal Dems have the gall to lie and say abortion will not be paid for with tax money.

The senate bill passed on Xmas eve morning.  I do not use the word Christmas because this whole debacle is not even close to Christ like.  Xmas came early with this vote and Scrooge was nowhere near in sight.  Obama and the Dems just spent another couple trillion on OC to put us even further into debt.  Obama said, without OC, we will go bankrupt.  What a joke, because everybody with half a brain knows it’s the other way around.  With OC we are more likely to go broke!

Don’t let anybody tell you OC does not add to our debt!  Obama lied that his bill would be deficit neutral.  Impossible!  Our government has never initiated a program (especially of this magnitude) that didn’t cost taxpayers money.  For that matter, the cost is always far greater than projected.

Don’t buy into the fuzzy math that liberals claim won’t add to our deficit.  For example, it was discovered that the so called Medicare cuts was going to be used to bring down healthcare costs in other ways - twice!  How do you spend the same amount of money twice over to bring down costs? 

Here’s another gimmick that is absolutely mind boggling.  The benefits of OC to the new people in the pool doesn’t kick in for four years, however, in the meantime new taxes kick in right away to pay for OC.  Would you pay on a car for four years before you could actually drive that car?  What about people who die within the next four years who paid for OC and maybe died because they didn’t get the care they needed during this period?  Isn’t it interesting (more like disgusting) that the OC destruction of our healthcare doesn’t kick in until Obama attempts to get re-elected?  How’s that for scheming?

Here we are in a recession.  Many Americans unemployed, or working part time, many in jobs way below thier skills and education - and everybody’s taxes will go up for health insurance.  Up by $3400 for married people and $1700 for singles.  Businesses will get taxed more and forced to provide employee insurance that could force businesses to lay off employees in order to reduce costs.  The unemployed may be 10%, but counting the underemployed it’s closer to 20%.  OC makes no sense. 

Obama and company (Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Schumer, Dodd, etc. etc.) don’t care what it does to our economy.  This is a historic moment!  I want to barf!  We are making history for sure, but not the kind we want to be known for.  Speaking of history, much of history is being ignored.  The history of England and Canada and other countries clearly shows government run healthcare is unsustainable and does not provide for better healthcare.  Why are we going down the same path?  Obviously, to have more control over your life and mine with bigger government! 

Don’t be fooled by the public option being dropped.  There is humongous government control in OC and all the liberals expect the provisions of the bill to eventually ruin private insurance companies.  For example, with the bill mandating insurance companies give everybody insurance, even those with life threatening pre existing conditions, companies are forced to increase premiums to stay afloat.  With those bigger premiums that eventually the average person can’t afford, the government expects (according to liberals) to step in and take over our healthcare completely.  It’s just a matter of time they hope.  The plan is being put in place with OC.  It’s a scheme, scam, whatever you want to call it; it’s a devious plan of a work in progress.

Can you believe, in this great so called democratic country of ours, you are forced to buy insurance whether you want it or not - or pay a fine.  If you don’t pay the fine you go to jail!  Tell me I’m dreaming!  Get out the your constitution folks!  Many will choose to pay the fine since it will be cheaper than buying the insurance.  What a crazy bill and potentially an unconstitutional one. 

I repeat!  If you look at the big picture along with the details of scheming, scams, distortions, etc. it is impossible to have more good come out of this than bad!  Can’t be done!

It’s important, of course, for drug companies to buy into OC to fool us into thinking there’s a lot of support out there.  What did Obama and his liberal Democrat cohorts do to get the drug companies to go along?  They screwed (pardon my French) you and me.  The bill makes it illegal for countries like Canada and Mexico to import cheaper drugs.  In other words, they bought off the drug companies.  Along with that, the generic drug companies lose out too with some of the provisions.  If that isn’t immoral, corruption, criminal government behavior, it sure borders on it.  Disgusting doesn’t even begin to describe these dirty politics!

Lies galore!  Regardless of the final outcome of OC, Obama and cohorts along the way at one time or another lied about abortion not part of the bill, illegals not covered, won’t add to our deficit, we can keep our private insurance, etc.

OC early on didn’t say abortion would be covered, BUT didn’t say it wouldn’t either!  It didn’t say illegals wouldn’t be covered, BUT doctors and hospitals couldn’t ask for identification to prove citizenship, so guess what?  When Republicans offered amendments, to specifically exclude taxpayer money for abortions or exclude illegals, the Democrats voted down those amendments yet claimed (lied) the two were not part of OC. 

All the Democrats (all of them, even the spineless Blue Dogs) will go to their political graves to have abortion, illegals, no tort reform, unions, even big business profiting, so to speak, from OC.  Pro abortionist groups, trial lawyers, unions, even some of big business profits from OC because these groups contribute enormous amounts of money to Dem coffers. That includes Wall Street!  Illegals will get covered for one simple reason and that’s to get their votes!  Dems could care less that illegals are here illegally!  No tort reform, which is one of the biggest reasons for skyrocketing  healthcare costs.  Not only will trial lawyers continue to drive up costs with litigation, the two thousand page bill has such complex and illusive language it’s a lawyers dream come true for lawsuits.  Costs for drugs would decrease, of course, with free markets but OC puts the kibosh to that too.

How many lies have we heard that Republicans are only obstructionists and have no plans at all for reform?  Number one, everybody and their uncle knows we need reform and wants it - including Republicans.  I heard they had as many as 35 plans for change.  Whether that figure is correct or not the Republican party DOES have proposals!  You don’t hear about them because they’ve been shut out of everything.  Dems do everything behind closed doors without Reps and then accuse them of being the party of “no.”  OC is the most partisan major bill in our history, operative word being major. 

Obviously, there are a whole host of things occurring in this OC process to show that this is about politics rather than your health care or mine.  The Dems are standing healthcare on its head (nothing like it for over 200 years) but we (say the Dems) need to pass a bill (any bill) by the time Obama gives his State of the Union speech in late January.  Why?  For no other reason than to give him political capital going into another year.  He needs to say he had some accomplishment since his election no matter what it is and no matter whether or not its good for the country.  Most Americans would agree we should take our time with legislation that is so far reaching.  Senate leader Reid railroaded the senate bill through congress before senators went on Xmas break who just might change their vote when questioned by their constituents over the holidays.  Tell me that isn’t politics at its worst!

How about increasing the Medicare pool to younger people as a scheme to instigate a public option?   That was a scheme, which fortunately failed, to have the government control more of our healthcare.  Americans do not want government to control our healthcare but you can bet the farm there will be one devious attempt after another, even after a final bill, to get more government control over our lives.

Speaking of a final bill, as of this writing, the House passed a bill and so did the Senate (of course) and some time before the State of the Union speech, come hell or high water, the two bodies together will have a final bill for Obama.  Obama, of course, wants certain things in OC - but he’ll sign anything - anything to say he had something!  How disgusting is that!  Politics first, everything else secondary to that. 

As of this writing, the plan by Dems was for Reid of the Senate and Pelosi of the House to get together and work out a final bill - BEHIND CLOSED DOORS!  Why behind closed doors?  More sweetheart deals for some Dems that might have objections?  Speaking of closed doors, Obama lied that this whole process would be a transparent one; even covered by C-Span.  There is no transparency whatsoever.  Zilch!  None!  What it comes down to is we have arrogant, elitist, corrupt politicians that think they know what is best for us and that you and me are too ignorant to know what is best for us!

There are stumbling blocks to a final bill, particularly on a public option and abortion.  Isn’t it ironic that many Dems (mostly liberal ones) would prefer that the whole thing be dropped if there is no public government run option.  The House dropped it to get a bill passed, of course, hoping to eventually get it back in.  The same thing with abortion.  There is strong language in the House bill not to have taxpayers pay for abortions but the Senate bill has loopholes.   We all need to keep an eye on those two things since there is an outside chance (a very slim one) that the various factions won’t get it together. 

Speaking of factions, don’t think for one minute its all about all Dems against all Reps.  Many clear thinking moderate Dems don’t want OC in the manner its being presented.  Even some liberals Dems don’t want OC without the public option and desperately want tax money for killing babies.  As I think about it, liberals as a whole are in the minority in this country and what we are seeing is a small group within the group of liberals having complete control over virtually everything taking place in our government today.  That latter group comprises a relatively small group of “far left” liberals by the name of Obama, Emanuel, Axelrod, Reid, Pelosi, Hoyer, Schumer, Dodd, Frank, and some others.  How’s that readers for a democracy we supposedly have in this country!  It’s not just liberals in control of this country, it’s a relatively small number of “far left” liberals drumming up scheme after scheme and calling all the shots!

There are Blue Dog moderate and conservative Dems in congress.  That’s a joke.  Some claim to be fiscal conservatives or pro life.  There’s so much liberal stuff in OC yet every single Dem senator caved when it came time to vote.  We all need to keep an eye on this scenario when the two bodies get together for a final bill.  If we have people in congress running for office as Dems who campaigned as moderate or conservative Blue Dogs just to get in then vote the opposite way (the liberal way) what does that say about this ugly OC “process” we are witnessing!

Think about it readers!  The Senate bill, voted on and passed Xmas eve, did not get one single Republican vote - and, all Democrats voted for it.  There are provisions in this bill standing healthcare in America on its head that has the most lopsided voting ever!  There’s not an ounce of bipartisanship in this bill and at times the Dems would claim (lie) that it is bipartisan!  It is crucial to note that 60 Dems voted yea and 39 Reps voted nay while Rep Bunning (who is retiring) was absent that otherwise would have made 40 no votes.  I contend that most of the Republicans weren’t just being stubborn, they were listening to you and me!  They saw more bad in the bill than good.  If the majority of Americans see it that way, what makes Dems think our Republican legislators don’t see it that way too?

Tell me how cutting Medicare for seniors by 500 billion doesn’t lead to rationing?  Call it death panels or whatever (the name is immaterial) OC is rationing.  No ifs, ands or buts!  OC adds more people to the pool and if we already have a shortage of doctors, nurses, health services and medical equipment one would have to be braindead to argue NO rationing!  Who determines who gets what?  God help us its our government and its bureaucrats that don’t know the first thing about healthcare.  The great relationship we have now, under the current system, where doctor and patient together decide what’s best for you and me will be history!  A historical enigma!  A historical travesty!

OC could lead to fewer doctors, even more hospitals going bankrupt.  OC calls for the reduction of reimbursement to the two.  Many doctors, according to polls, are threatening to retire if OC passes.  Many doctors will stop taking Medicare patients.  That scenario will lead to the government stepping in and forcing doctors to treat those patients.  As more doctors exit the profession causing huge horrible shortages Med schools will lower their standards to get more students and, of course, this domino effect ends up affecting quality of medical treatment.

I’m not trying to be melodramatic with what I have to say about the following.  A year ago I had a major healthcare problem.  As a senior, Medicare took care of me so that today I am back on my feet doing everything I did before, including tennis and biking.  I have my doubts that I would be alive today had my problem occurred under OC, with rationing, government bureaucrats calling the shots, etc. 

 It is totally beyond my comprehension that any senior would want to go from what we have now to what is being proposed!  Ironically, I suspect my biggest critics of my letter to the editor and this blog will be western Kansas seniors themselves!  The liberal ones that are in the paper almost daily!  Even though they will be shooting themselves in the foot by supporting OC, they won’t mind throwing practicality out the window because it’s their liberal ideology mindset that is the most important to them, not their own physical health.  That’s further indication OC, not only being schemes, corruption, criminal, unconstitutional, etc., but the most bizarre piece of legislation to come our way in our lifetime.

At this point I am going to look over the notes I made while following the OC sham.  I made hundreds of notes (hope my computer doesn’t crash as a result) that I didn’t even look at as I wrote all of the above from memory.  Did I leave anything out? 

Before I get to those notes, it’s important for readers of my blog to be aware of thousands of pork (earmark) projects attached to OC.  Mind you, we don’t have the money for these congressional pet projects, and worse yet, this pork tax money has NOTHING to do with your healthcare or mine!!!!  Another nail in the coffin (we hope) for these OC healthcare bills!!!!

Besides the abortion and public option issue that the Senate and House versions need to deal with I left out a third one and it’s huge.  It’s the huge increase in taxes!  Governor Schwartzenager is beside himself  claiming OC taxes will be absolutely devastating to California.  New York’s Democrat governor says the same thing and so does my governor here in Arizona.  We’re talking about states that already have huge deficits and I just named three of many states that won’t be able to handle these tax increases.  But like everything else Obama could care less.  Let’s start calling OC Obamacareless.

When has government been efficient with anything?  Did you all hear about Health and Human Services recalling 800,000 dosages of the swine flu vaccine?  Those nearly one billion dosages were wrong and wouldn’t help one bit in countering the flu.  And, we want our government to take over our healthcare?  Not if I can help it!

There’s more spin and shenanigans in OC than a yo yo that goes up and down all day long.  The transparency of this legislative process is like trying to follow a wave in the ocean from New York to England.  That’s how I see this abomination.

Did you know that former Senator Tom Daschle, with no official connection to our government that is transparent, is heavily involved in drafting OC?  Daschle lost his seat in the senate during an election.  Later he was selected by Obama to be Secretary of Health and Human Services (now held by Sebelius) but withdrew from that nomination when it was discovered he was a big tax cheat.  But he has frequent meetings at the White House with Obama and others.  His fingerprints are all over OC.  That should make us all feel better!

Here’s another attempted scheme that makes one wonder.  The Dems wanted in the bill something to the effect no succeeding congress can change OC once finalized.  That would be a first!  We have never ever had that written into a piece of legislation before!  The reason of course is that Dems know full well when the public actually figures out what all the complexity in the bill(s) is all about, you and I will come unglued and want no part of it.  How’s that for scheming?  No chance to change anything down the road?  The Dems know full well OC is not about better healthcare!

Rush Limbaugh says when Obama and Democrats win Americans lose!  There’s a lot to be said for those words and not just for OC!

This writing is a continuation of another HDNews letter to the editor I had recently.  It is my contention that nothing of any major consequence coming from the Obama administration is having a positive impact.  All of his major agendas are counter productive. 

A recent agenda of Obama and party is to demonize conservative media.  That too seems to be counter productive and self defeating as the viewing and listening audience of Fox News and conservative talk radio hosts goes up rather than down following the left’s attacks.

In my letter I mention the importance to Americans of Fox, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. because mainstream media (NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, NY Times, Washington Post, etc.) refuses to cover most news that is negative to Obama and Democrats.   That refusal is obvious when you consider big stories like the ACORN scandals, Obama’s communist czar and homosexual activist czar, etcetera.   Obama’s communications director Anita Dunn (a Mao admirer) says “we control the media.”

Obama and company don’t control conservative news thus the attacks!

There are umpteen big stories lost in the news deliberately by mainstream media (msm).  Take for example the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Remember the George W. Bush days!  Our 43rd president could do nothing right whatsoever in Iraq so there was daily unrelenting criticism by msm.  And then, true to form, when we started winning the war with the surge there was deafening silence from liberal media.  The liberal left is, for the most part, against any war, but there are no negative stories about Obama’s Afghan war.  It’s ludicrous to claim Obama’s war is one of “necessity,”  but not George W’s!  Obama gets a pass with little said while GWB gets hammered!  It’s called hypocristy!  It’s called liberal bias by msm!  It’s called “being in the tank” for Obama!

I recently sent a letter to the editor of the Hays Daily News titled “Absolutely Appalling.”  I stated in that letter I was appalled with what is taking place in our government today.  Since there is a 600 word limit in such letters, I claimed I could only scratch the surface and readers should go to this blog for more. 

In my letter I mentioned our sorry state of affairs concerning our debt, the rise in unemployment, the failure of the stimulus bill, no real transparency, no real accountability, and an utter disaster of foreign affairs.  I will touch on these some more, but have many more to present. 

It is my contention that the Obama administration and Democrat controlled congress are leading us down far left wing liberal paths never before experienced in this country’s history.  For example, when in our history, has a president and congress outspent all previous presidents and legislative bodies combined going back to George Washington?  If that isn’t far left liberalism - and appalling - I don’t know what is!

I submit this blog as is for the time being but hope to add to it and elaborate on my statements for several weeks.

Some other points to keep in mind:  What I have to say in this writing is that virtually every major agenda coming down the pike from our pres and congress is a failure except for continuing with Bush policies in Iraq and homeland security.  I contend there is far more harm than good taking place.  Spending us into oblivion is just one example.  If there is more good than bad I would expect dissenters to show me and readers.  Dissenters can nit pick here and nit pick there (which I suspect will be the case along with a lot of spin) but when they look at the BIG picture they will have little to offer in refuting my main theme of mostly appalling governmental agendas. 

Another important point:  If what Obama and company is throwing at us is mostly far left liberal agendas (out of sight spending, higher taxes, more abortions, a weaker national defense, etc. etc.) - to me, it is only logical that it all becomes appalling!  Why?  This is not a country where the majority are liberals!  Liberals make up 20% of our voting population; the other 80% are conservatives and moderates and conservatives outnumber moderates!  It stands to reason that the country (mainstream and grassroots Americans) are going to come unglued!

Enough said - on to the many appalling agendas.

Growing government or big government, if you will, is liberalism.  Our government is getting bigger and bigger by the day without nationalized healthcare yet the left is trying to ram down our throats more government that will drastically add to our debt and that’s not at all what the majority of Americans want.  It’s appalling that Americans clearly do not want gov’t run healthcare and it’s appalling how our government is scheming to force it upon us.  Tell me that a bill of over a thousand pages that wasn’t supposed to be read and even if read doesn’t make sense isn’t appalling!

Speaking of bigger government, it’s outrageous to add gov’t employees daily by the truck load.  While the unemployment rate in the private sector continues to grow, employment in gov’t goes way up!  If fewer Americans are working that means less money going into our U.S. Treasury in the way of taxes.  Where is the money coming from to pay for more gov’t workers?  Total fiscal irresponsibility and appalling to spend us into more debt, borrow the money, or print it in order to make gov’t more powerful and in the process take away more of our freedoms and liberties. 

Americans are experiencing one appalling thing after another.  Take Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize.  His “appeasing” foreign policy exasperates the problem of nuclear proliferation.  Iran and North Korea clearly prove that last statement with more, not less, nuclear development.  How does that lead to greater peace in the world?  The Norweigian NPP committee gave the award to Obama because our president is willing to give up our own nuclear development, even give up America’s sovereignty to international organizations such as the UN.  The UN votes against U.S. initiatives 75% of the time.  It is anti semetic.  It has the world’s most vile violaters of human rights on its Human Rights Committee.  By giving up our “clout” in world affairs by Obama, the NPP committee gleefully gave our pres the award.  Absolutely appalling for this country of ours!  And, let’s not forget that Obama did nothing for the freedom of Iran’s people who rebelled against its dictatorial government that promises to annihilate Israel.

This blog is a continuation of my article on the Stimulus Bill in the Reader Forum section of the Hays Daily. 

Obama wins big with this bill in a sense.  He may pay a big price in the long run politically and fiscally.  He’s throwing caution to the wind.  This stimulus bill of his (and the Dem Congress) is rolling the dice.  Even his VP Biden said it has a 30% chance of failing.

 Why the rush to pass this bill?  It was, in part, because the more the public heard about it the less they liked it.

Obama got away with all his radical associations.  He may figure he can get away with anything since mainstream media (MSM) must now (after endorsing him) make sure he succeeds no matter what. 

Talk about getting away with lots!  Didn’t Obama campaign to eliminate pork.  Obama loves pork.  His bill is loaded with it even though he says it isn’t.  Wasn’t it Obama that said you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig.  You can try to disguise the pig or give aways but it’s still pork, also known as earmarks.  What do you call millions to save a mouse as an endangered species?  A high speed railway for Senate Majority Leader Reid from Disneyland to Las Vegas?  Digital TV conversion?  Etc.  Obama’s 60 contributers to this bill made sure lots of money will go to people who supported him during his campaign.        

The Stimulus Bill  rewards failure.  It punishes success by making the successful (who pay taxes) pay for the failures.  Capitalism rewards those who have ingenuity and are willing to take risks.  The stimulus bill rewards those who want want big government through socialism to take care of them.  Too many Americans are depending on the most liberal and socialistic president we have ever had to come through with handouts even though there is nothing in our Constitution about entitlements.

Obama is a fear monger.  In his recent trip to Arizona to talk about his home mortgage plan he used the word “crisis” 25 times in a speech that was relatively short.  Where’s the “hope” Obama?  You’ve been about as negative as one can be on the economy.  Isn’t your trillion plus bill going to give us the hope you campaigned on?  By the way, it was estimated that his one day trip to Arizona cost over a half million dollars on Air Force One.  

Another thing about Obama’s Arizona trip readers should know is that there are peaceful protests taking place by people who oppose the bill - but MSM is ignoring that story or downplaying it by saying it is small groups.  500 at Dobson High School, Arizona is not a small group!  Remember, MSM needs Obama to succeed! 

I would have been part of the protest except for another commitment.  Obama’s scripted (as always) speech was given a few miles from my home in Arizona and a short distance from Mesa Community College where I worked for over 30 years.  I will be at my other home (in Victoria) for six months starting mid May.

There’s an E-Verify program stripped from the bill at the last minute so that illegals can get those stimulus jobs and the benefits that go with it!  Unbelieveable!  We may not know for months what is in this bill totally in as much it has over a thousand pages that wasn’t even read by our congressman before voting.  Kudos to all Republicans (except three) who wouldn’t be a party to this sham!

Walter Williams, an African American economist, recently wrote in the Hays Daily that there are billions of elements that affect our economy.  That being said, it seems to me we all may never know the true value or harm of this bill.  Our economy may right itself, as it has over the years, no matter what the government does.  Our economy has always come back in a positive way throughout our history.  When it does will Obama undeservedly get the credit?  If it takes longer than usual will he get the blame - or will it be Bush’s fault?  One thing is certain.  No matter what the economy does my children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren have one heck of a debt hanging over their heads.  A debt that may not have been necessary since the bill is just one big gamble!

Mainstream media (MSM) has created a monster, so to speak.  The monster is not Obama.  The monster is the creation of a president who is supposed to be able to walk on water.  A fantasy leader of the free world and commander in chief.

MSM actively campaigned for Obama and now must, in order to save face, insure that our first black president succeeds.  What that means is we will continue to get biased reporting devoid of any true facts.

How much has MSM reported on the House’s stimulus bill loaded with pork?  Not much, nor has MSM shown where there is very little in this bill to actually stimulate the economy directly.  MSM will pick and choose what to report with most every thing geared to make Obama look good. 

Actually, Obama has made some effort to bring his supporters down to earth.  His inauguration speech was meant to do that.  I can’t help but feel sorry for our 44th president.  The task before him truly requires a Messiah which the man truly is not.

Too many on the Mall during the inauguration watch too much TV.  Their expectations of our new president are unrealistic.  He’s not going to pay their mortgage and put gas in their cars. 

What’s this guy going to do with a House and Senate Congress that is as partisan and left wing as we have ever had in our history?  Do readers know that the House, during our past 110th Congress, set two records - make that three.  Nancy Pelosi was the first female to lead as Speaker of the House.  Secondly, this was the most inept legislative body in our history in terms of passing actual legislation.  Thirdly, it passed more meaningless resolutions ever.  Make it four records with the fourth being the most Democrat partisan House ever.and the Senate, led by Harry Reid, was no better.

Didn’t Obama promise to change all of that?  Thus far, it ain’t happening!

What about ethics and pork?  Wasn’t Obama going to change all of that?  The lack of ethics is as blatant as ever and the pork is as rampant as ever!  In D.C., business is as usual.  Obama’s team is made up of Clinton retreads.  His team is made up of tax evaders and people with strong lobbyist ties.   Spending in the stimulus package is out of control.  The word “change” has become a joke in that some things never change and when it does, it’s not the change Americans want?  

Leonard Pitts, a favorite Hays Daily liberal columnist, lost all credibility with me in totally mis-characterizing what Limbaugh said about Obama’s success.    Like Rush Limbaugh, I want our new president to succeed.  Why would I want to shoot myself in the foot if he doesn’t succeed in turning around our economy.  But do I want him to succeed in killing more babies and turning America into another European socialist nanny state?  Absolutely not, nor do most Americans want these changes to take place!    

The campaigning and recent election makes me wonder where we are headed as a democratic nation?   

Wouldn’t our founders turn over in their graves when looking at America’s so called free press?  Mainstream media (MSM) with its bias chose, for this country, our president elect Obama.  MSM made no bones about who they were pulling for.

Bill O’Reilly of cable FOX news said the bias is so very blatant only a moron can’t see it.    

Umpteen studies show that MSM favored, in their reporting, Obama over McCain.  Even Obama supporters admitted there was bias!  There is absolutely no question that newspapers like The New York Times and Washington Post were in the tank for Obama.  ABC, NBC, etcetera were no different. 

What most voters believe in and what they chose (thanks to MSM) were two different things.  Here’s a prime example.  McCain had a platform far superior to Obama on protecting Israel, yet Obama got 75% of the Jewish vote.   Obama’s support of pro Palestinians was in question and Jews ignored it probably because MSM ignored it.

The unprofessional behavior of mainstream media showed in two ways.  When they wrote about the two candidates most of the time they favored the liberal candidate Obama.  Secondly, and probably worse, they refused to investigate Obama’s background.  MSM simply ignored any potential negatives of their chosen one.  Omission is just as unprofessional as bias. 

How does this scenario promote democracy?  McCain got a measly 4% of the black community’s vote while Obama captured 96%.  Isn’t that discrimination and racism?  The black community refused to vote for a white man.  Yet, it’s Obama’s supporters that will call me the racist?

MSM will continue to protect Obama from criticism.  The public won’t really know what is going on in the Obama administration because MSM will be protecting him.  Those who criticize will be called racists.  MSM put Obama in the Oval Office and will do everything to make him look good as president just as MSM did during the campaign. 

Freedom of speech, so very important in a democracy, will be challenged at every turn.  The Obama Democrats, under the Fairness (unfair) Doctrine, are gearing up to tell talk radio what to say about politics.  Should this egregious act pass it will be a sure sign that democracy (free speech)  in this country is a thing of the past.   

Too many voters played into the hands of MSM.  Too many voters could care less about the facts and MSM was more than accommodating.  

If I was campaigning for president I would probably have more gaffes than Obama, but that’s not the point.  The point is mainstream media butchers a Republican when gaffes happen and then gives a pass to Democrats.

Look what MSM did to Bush Sr’s vice president Dan Quayle.  Quayle spelled potato as potatoe and MSM wrote about it for months.  Obama’s gaffes are far more ridiculous than Quayle’s.

Let’s begin with the recent Democratic convention when he told his daughters and all of America he was in St. Louis when he was in Kansas City.  MSM made nothing of it. That’s just for starters.

How about campaigning in 57 states with one more to go?  The U.S. has 58 states?

How about Iran being a tiny country that can’t hurt us?  If a country has nukes it makes little difference how big or small it is.

He said a relative of his was the first to Auschwitz in World War II when it was the Russians that were the first to get there.

Obama said the Selma, Alabama civil rights march brought his parents together when that wasn’t even close to the same time frame.  Obama was born in 1961 while the Selma march occurred in 1965. 

Obama threw his white grandmother under the bus by saying she,  some how, has a typical white racist attitude.   

The people in Afghanistan don’t speak Arabic as Obama erroneously claimed.  Iraqis do, but not Afghans!

Obama showed his elitism to a San Francisco elitist crowd by saying the people in Pennsylvania were bitter so they cling to their guns and religion.  He lost big time to Hillary in that state as a result.   

This is a good one for Kansans!  Obama claimed the tornado that hit Greensburg killed 10,ooo.  It killed 12!!!

Talking to a crowd in Sioux Falls, South Dakota he referred to them as Sioux City folks   Sioux City is in Iowa?

Obama claimed he did not want his daughters punished with a baby if they make a mistake!  How’s that for telling the world you’re a pro abortionist!

We won’t dwell on all the gaffes showing Obama’s poor judgment when it comes to his associations.  Suffice it to say he had a twenty year association with a pastor that hates whites and America.  His friend Tony Rezko, who helped financially put Obama in the Senate, is going to federal prison for corruption.  Speaking of corruption, Obama comes directly out of the U. S.’s most corrupt city and that is Chicago.  Obama was friends for years with an American terrorist that bombed the Pentagon and Capital - by the name of William Ayers.  His first major appointment while campaigning was Eric Holder that got president Clinton to pardon America’s biggest tax evader by the name of Marc Rich.  Poor judgment again!  

The list goes on and on.  I better stop even though there is much more - before my blog becomes a book.  No other presidential candidate in this country has had as many gaffes as Barack Hussein Obama!  No other candidate in the history of this country has been given more passes for gaffes by mainstream liberal biased media that obviously wants this radical in the White House!

There is no question, Obama is a far left radical.  He has had umpteen experiences and associations that prove it.

Obama, for twenty years, was a member of a far left radical black liberation theology Trinity Church.  His friend and spiritual advisor was Pastor Wright.  Wright was a Muslim himself at one time. 

Wright claimed the U.S. was deliberately killing blacks with the AIDS virus.  G. D. America says Wright as he curses our country.  A Fr. Pflager, who Obama managed to get pork money to as a senator, is no better than Wright.

Obama has thrown the two under the bus but there is no escaping a twenty year association.  Wright’s church praises two extreme radical Muslims’ that being Malcolm X and Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam.  That’s all part of Obama as well.  He did participate in Farrakhan’s Million Man March. to D.C.  These are Black Muslims that are radically anti American. and Obama has a long history of such associations.  That he sat in a pew for twenty years and didn’t know what was going on is ludicrous.  And what about his wife Michelle throughout the years sitting in the same pew listening to Wright’s pure hatred radical views?  No wonder Michelle said she was proud to be an American for the first time since her husband gets to run for president and, she also said America is a mean country that perpetuates fear among Americans.   

Let’s not forget that Obama is a product of one of the most corrupt political machineries  in the U.S.  That being Chicago Mayor Daly’s corrupt Democrat political entities - for years.  Sounds radical to me!  His friends Rezko and Ayers are part of that machinery and Obama wouldn’t be where he is today if not for convicted felon Rezko’s support.

Let’s move on to a radical and communist Muslim politician in Kenya by the name of  Raila Odinga whom Obama openly supported against a predominately Christian nation and Christian politician.  Kenya is 85% Christian yet Obama openly supported the radical Muslim.  Makes one wonder about this politician Obama!  Probably had to do with his father’s Muslim Kenyan background.

Obama’s official blogger, by the name of Sam Graham, is a follower of Marxism and is a featured writer in Marxist publications.  That’s more radicalism for Obama?

Terrorist Ayers and Obama, while together on the Woods Fund board, gave $75,000 dollars to a pro Palestinian group through another friend  by the name of Khalidi, a pro Palistinian anti Iraeli radical Columbia U. professor.  Obama’s sincere support of Israel is definitely open to question.   

Let me end with Obama’s biggest contributer.  I am talking about radical far left socialist billionaire George Soros, an atheist and Bush hater.  Soros has more invested in Obama than any other single individual.  Obama sees the world and America in the same light as Soros.  That would be to turn this county into a totally socialist one.  Soros, as a far left radical,  will be a big part of Obama’s radical administration if elected president.

When you look at Obama (with an open mind) it is impossible to claim he is anything other than a far left liberal who is very radical in his views in a multitude of ways.

If the majority of voters in this country are center right why would any moderate mainstream Democrat vote for Obama and Biden when they are both far left liberals according to their voting records?  Biden is in third place as the most liberal voting senator.

Does anybody in their right mind think the Muslim community (in this country or outside) would support McCain over Barack “Hussein” Obama?  That’s not a question because it is more than obvious that Muslims support Obama.  

Part III will be about Obama’s gaffes which I wouldn’t talk about if mainstream media addressed them which they only do if they are gaffes by Republicans.  Stay tuned for more and please feel free to comment! 

Media bias of late is so very obvious in covering the John Edwards mistress and love child story.  Mainstream media won’t touch it.  Edwards, ex Democrat presidential candidate, was caught red handed hooking up with his mistress in a Los Angeles hotel recently.  

This blog is not about Edwards as much as it is about media bias.  There seems to be substantial evidence that Edwards met his lover  and, if not true, why does he refuse to set the record straight publicly?  Yet, mainstream media refuses to cover the story.  The Los Angeles Times even went so far to tell its bloggers to leave it alone.

Here’s my point.  If Edwards was a Republican it would make front page news for weeks.  There’s a double standard in M & M.  Reps get the snot kicked out of ‘em when caught and Dems get a pass.

Take for example the news, totally unsubstantiated, that Republican John McCain was having an affair with a lobbyist - according to the New York Times.  A totally bogus bit of sleazy newspaper reporting got front page coverage in the Times.  But the Times won’t touch the Edwards story that appears to be true.

There are hundreds of cases like this one that show media bias.

Liberal biased journalism is at a crisis in this country.  M & M is in the tank for Obama and studies prove it.  Obama’s coverage to McCain’s isn’t even close.

Shouldn’t media’s job be one of presenting the facts and letting voters decide who to vote for?  NBC makes no bones about supporting Obama.  Except for FOX the other TV networks can’t get enough of Obama which appears they support a Dem candidate, and that includes CNN.   The Washington Post newspaper hasn’t endorsed a Rep since Eisenhower!  Etc. etc. 

The Hays Daily endorsed Kerry over Bush in 2004.  Whom will they endorse in November?

Studies show most journalists vote Dem rather than Rep by large margins.  And their contributions to Dem campaign coffers is far greater than to Reps.

Trust me when I say Associated Press reporters are as bad with their bias as any other reporters. 

The bottom line is that we all need to take today’s reporting, for the most part, with a grain of salt.  And, just maybe that is what is happening.  When you look at the lopsided reporting on the Obama “Messiah” he should be way ahead of McCain in the polls but he isn’t.
